Lisa is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade’s worth of experience providing counseling services and helping children, teenagers, adults and families.

Over the years, she has developed a special interest and passion for helping pre-adolescent and adolescent girls. Working at a Therapeutic Boarding School for girls ages 10-16 for three years, as a Treatment Coordinator and Therapist, she solidified her dedication to help our society’s daughters and she’s co-facilitated Parent Seminars and Family Workshops to help families have a better understanding of the challenges facing girls in adolescence.

The mission of her private psychotherapy practice in Mission Viejo, California, and the reason she founded Girl Spirit, is to help daughters address any issues they’re experiencing and to help parents create the relationships with them that they both need and desire, so they may recognize how much they matter and realize their true worth.

In addition to writing numerous articles, Lisa is presently a part-time adjunct professor teaching Marriage & Intimacy and Abnormal Psychology at Woodbury University, provide individual and family therapy for boys and girls ages 10-17 at Grace and Growth, and provide individual and group therapy for young adult men who are struggling with addiction, dual diagnosis, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues at Pace Recovery Center.

Being married and the proud mom of a six-year-old son brings a personal perspective to her work. In addition to her role as a mother, hiking the beautiful trails of California with her two little Pomeranian dogs, Hercules and Samson, brings a great deal of peace and joy to her life outside the office.

Lisa’s goal as a therapist is to create a daughter/parent  relationship based on mutual honesty and respect, as well as knowledge and compassion. She will strive to ensure both feel heard and supported, learn new coping skills, and begin letting go of behaviors that aren’t serving either so both can move forward in life with confidence that they are on the right path.
